The PM's weekend pronouncements lead me to hope that the day will soon arrive when a relatively modest planning application wont need to be supported by some or all of the following:

Financial Viability Statement

Structural Engineers Report

Contaminated Land Assessment

Gas Migration Mitigation study

Landscape/Visual Impact Assessment

Arboricltural Assessment

Flood Risk Assessment

Affordable Housing Statement

Transport Statement

Sustainability Appraisal

Renewable Energy Statement

Linguistic Assessment

Lighting Statement and Strategy

etc etc.. .

If so, the real enemy of enterprise will of course be the PM who, by sweeping away red tape with such ruthless efficiency, decimate the technical consultancy sector at a stroke.
